Submitting Your Manuscript
Before we start to work together, I want you to feel comfortable with and confident about my abilities. To this end, I’ll provide a free sample edit and/or estimate at your request. Simply submit the following information:

  • Document type (trade book, textbook, journal, newsletter, etc.)
  • Subject area (hiking, history, children’s nonfiction, etc.)
  • Intended audience
  • Page count (based on 12-point font and double-spacing, please)
  • Service you need (copyediting, content editing, writing, etc.), plus any additional important details regarding the manuscript
  • Style guide preference (i.e., Chicago Manual of Style)
  • Deadline
  • Contact information (your name, email address and phone number)
  • 3-5 pages of your document (preferably as Word or PDF files)
Please submit the above information to Michelle at eagleeyesediting@hotmail.com. The 3-5 pages of your document should come as an email attachment. You may also submit a disk (floppy or zip), CD or hard copy (please email me first for a mailing address). Generally, you can expect to hear back from me within 2-3 days, oftentimes sooner. If the project is on a rush, just let me know.

Rates
I generally like to have a discussion with clients about the work needed before setting a rate. Depending on the project, I charge hourly or by the page. My rates are competitive and based on service performed, i.e., copyediting, content editing, writing, etc. Generally, half of the total amount is due before I begin the work, while the balance is due upon completion.
